District 9 reviews are hitting the web, and the buzz is positive. District 9 is a South African sci-fi film about aliens who land on earth and are penned up in a sort of ghetto in Johannesburg. From the District 9 movie trailer, I presumed it to be an allegory for Distric 6, the Cape Town neighborhood where nonwhites were forced to live at the onset of Apartheid. Rotten Tomatoes gives District 9 at 96%.
